Casting Call for Ohio Lottery Event: Professional Dancers Needed

CALLING ALL PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

Scope of Project:

Northlich’s client is looking to build awareness of its two big jackpot games Powerball and Mega Millions, during this year’s Ohio State Fair in Columbus, Ohio. We will surprise and entertain the general public by hosting the first-ever Lottery Dance-Off during this year’s Fair. The stars of this event will be four mascots dressed in costumes inspired by the new game, dancing alongside 50 dancers.


This request is for four professionally trained dancers who are accustomed to wearing mascot-like costumes. Two of the four dancers would be required to perform a short dance routine for the actual performance, and also serve as mascots at an Ohio State Fair booth. The remaining dancers will be dressed in costume and rotate activities or serve as extras.


Talent Requirements:

  • Female or male, age 18 or older, height 5’ 4” or under, gymnast-build

  • Professionally trained dancers

  • Able to comfortably move/dance in costumes (big round ball with arm holes and mesh covered peep hole for sight (10 lbs), full body leotards and shorts; costumes provided)

  • Familiar with popular group/line dances like the Boot Scootin’ Boogie or Cotton Eye Joe, etc. and the ability to learn a dance during one rehearsal

  • Available on the specified dates/times for rehearsals and event

  • All dancers are required to sign a photography/video release form, and waiver form; our client reserves the right to use all photos and videos from the event.

  • Great attitude and ready to get the crowds pumped up!

When:

  • Audition: Tuesday, July 13, 1:00-4:00pm

    • Talent will be required to perform a well known line dance (Boot Scootin’ Boogie or Cotton Eye Joe) in the costume (provided) during the audition

  • Rehearsal: Monday, July 19 9:00-11:00am

  • Dress Rehearsal: Monday, July 26, 9:00-11:00am

  • Performance and activity at the Fair: Friday, July 30, 1:00-6:00pm

  • Audition: Smith Brothers Hardware Building 580 N. 4th Street Columbus, Ohio 43215

    • Visitor parking available on site, alternate parking available at the Columbus Convention Center

  • Rehearsal: Smith Brothers Hardware Building 580 N. 4th Street Columbus, Ohio 43215

  • Dress Rehearsal: Smith Brothers Hardware Building 580 N. 4th Street Columbus, Ohio 43215

  • Performance: Ohio State Fair Grounds, Columbus, Ohio

Compensation:

Compensation for each dancer based on $50/hour:

  • Rehearsal: $100 per dancer (2 hour rehearsal)

  • Dress rehearsal: $100 per dancer (2 hour rehearsal)

  • Day of event: $250 per dancer (5 hour event)
