Wyoming Players Announces Season Auditions Share on Facebook, MySpace, and more:2010-2011 Season Auditions Wyoming Players-Ohio's Oldest Community Theater Company Cold Readings from the Scripts Sunday August 8th, 2-5 PM Monday August 9th, 7-10 PM Monmouth Theatre 636 Monmouth St. Newport, KY 41071 All performances will take place at the Monmouth Theatre The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare Show Dates: November 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 2010 Directed by Dee Dunn – Produced by Bridgid Slivken Wealthy Baptista Minola, decrees that his daughter Bianca may receive no suitors until her shrewish sister, Katharina, receives a proposal of marriage and goes to the altar. Bianca’s three young suitors begin plotting to marry off hellcat Katharina. They find a likely candidate for her hand–Petruchio. The story of how he wins Kate’s heart will charm and entertain audiences. We promise -- we do Shakespeare so they can understand it. Casting – We are doing this play in a wild west setting. We will be considering women to play men’s roles for any character listed below with an asterisk. All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. We will not include the Induction scenes in our production. It looks like an open-and-shut case—until one of the jurors begins opening the others' eyes to the facts. " Each juror reveals his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short, arguments grow heated, and the jurors become 12 angry men. The jurors' final verdict and how they reach it are intense scenes that will electrify you and keep you on the edge of your seat. 13 men and women (12 jurors and a guard), with ages ranging from mid-20s to 60+.
